7/23/2023 0 Comments Spectre cast introIf you want to see a continuous shot that will blow your mind watch Robert Altman's THE PLAYER. Not everyone is going to care but for those who want to care, it always sparks some interesting dialogue. and because I think it's good to understand the art and engineering that went into a shot. ![]() I don't say it to correct people but more because I find it an interesting bit of history how the term got mangled like that. Yeah the misnomer comes from the perception that it refers to "tracking" a person which isn't the case at all. So I don't know if they have any real shit-kicking romps of holidays, maybe Cinco de Mayo Mexico strikes as an incredibly family-oriented country-this with an earnestness to it that was surprising to me. No parades, no parties, nothing riotous: the scene above is alot like what Halloween is like in NYC. ![]() Walking the steps of Janitzio was a real trip, too: winding, staggered and steep, like the steps of one of the native pyramids. There were beautiful Mexican Marigolds being sold everywhere, the marigolds meant to represent the everlasting, the sun. Patzcuaro is real neat colonial-era town. It wasn't much of a party though a few women were dressed up pretty impressively, with their faces painted, in imitation of Posada's La Catrina several people and kids had their faces painted there was a fireworks and light show in the town's main square (a park area), and a band thumping out some traditional tunes there were hundreds of vendors and foodstalls in Patzcuaro, to such a degree that it was like walking through tarp covered labyrinths, all alive with commotion and smells. ![]() 2 we left at midnight and got back by dawn (the rooster's crow) visited a bunch of different cemeteries: two of them on different islands in Lake Patzcuaro. I just went this past year: they say one of the best celebrations is in Patzcuaro, Michoacan, where one of the main cemeteries is on an island, Janitzio, in the middle of a lake.
